"Trans Genre: Poetry and the Inter-arts"

On April 18-19, 2003, at Porter College, there will be a two-day celebration of poetry at its intersection with theater, music, film, digital media, visual art, and narrative.

Prominent San Francisco authors Robert Gluck, Camille Roy, Dodie Bellamy, Kevin Killian, and kari edwards will present panel discussions and performances.

Saturday features a performances by Dhaia Tribe and Kevin Killian's Poet's Theater, as well as the first-ever Transcontinental Poetry Reading celebrating Kenneth Koch. Eleven poets from California to New York will perform live while streamed through the internet. Poets include Andrei Codrescu, Anne Waldman, and Ron Padgett. UCSC will stage a performance Entr'Acte by Roxi Hamilton and Mobius Operandi with original musical sculptures by Oliver DiCicco. Event is sponsored by the Porter Hitchcock Poetry Fund and Poets and Writers, Inc. Free and open to the public.
